The LSZEE Tour is headed to the Steelhouse Omaha on May 1 and 2. The tour is a two-night event, featuring two different sets and two lineups from dance/electronic artists LSDREAM and CloZee.
LSZEE is a collaborative project featuring LSDREAM and CloZee, full of new music and genre blending work.
“(My music is) supersonic alien wiggly air mixed with beautiful soundscape murals that helps you remember you are a magical and lovely human,” LSDREAM said.
LSDREAM’s love for music started when he around 10 years old. He would ask his mom to take him to garage sales and flea markets to buy instruments, LSDREAM said.
“It's a way to share a piece of yourself with the world and express some truth that can't be put into words,” LSDREAM said. “It's a way to bring joy, emotion, healing and connection to people, so making music means a lot.”
CloZee started in music by playing classical guitar at 11 years old. She had a passion for electronic music, and she started producing music when she was 16. She would record her guitar compositions, slowly adding other electronic elements to it, CloZee said.
“The music production started to take over studies. I literally became addicted,” CloZee said.
CloZee learned how to use the producing software FL Studio and released her first track as CloZee on SoundCloud when she was 19. In 2012, she self-released her first EP, “Dubious,” and two albums, “Remixes” and “Guitar Covers.”
“This is the way I express myself,” CloZee said. “Music is the way I meditate, share (and) connect with people.”
The “LSZEE” project started when the two went on an Airbnb studio trip to Joshua Tree in California. They stayed there for a week, writing music. The origins of the LSZEE duo started there in Joshua Tree, LSDREAM said.
“At first we just wanted to work on a song together. We had no idea that the inspiration to write new music was going to flow so naturally,” CloZee said. “We kept starting songs after songs, and we vibe with each other so well. When that happens, you know there is something special going on.”
LSDREAM and CloZee released the project’s album, “LSZEE,” in 2024. They recently released eight remixes in April.
“Part of the DNA of our project is exploring new places together,” LSDREAM said. “What haven't you made? What haven't I made? Let's try to make something like that.”
The show has been fully crafted by LSDREAM and CloZee. Everything beyond the music, lights, lasers and video were intentionally designed, LSDREAM said.
“A lot of really talented people all put their insane skills together to help us bring this vision to life,” LSDREAM said. “The tour is hard to describe in words, there is a special vibe and energy being unlocked at these shows.”
The U.S. LSZEE Tour started in March with Chicago. This tour is the only time that the two will ever tour together.
“Because we are solo artists who are also on our own music paths, LSZEE is just (a) chapter we get to share with each other on our individual quests,” LSDREAM said.
Each stop will have two nights of shows, but the show differs from night to night. Each night in a city will have three openers, then three different openers the next.
“We uplift, support (and) inspire each other,” CloZee said. “Sami (LSDREAM) is an amazing human and we’re on the same page most of the time. We’re not imposing each other’s vision, or ideas, we respect each other’s music universes and the LSZEE music is just a happy marriage between both of them. I learn so much.”
LSZEE is headed to Omaha next. Tickets for Thursday and Fridays shows can be purchased on Steelhouse Omaha’s website.
